Welcome to the Brenda Bates website. I am a Christian who loves to write inspirations, meditations, poems, and prayers. You may also know me by the website www.InHisPath.com.

I love to take everyday circumstances or events and turn them into inspiring stories that may help others grow spiritually. I invite you to read how the Holy Spirit speaks to me during my quiet time, prayer time, and worship time. My prayer is that you will discover that we have a lot in common. I hope that common bond is Jesus.

I have found on my Christian journey, my spiritual walk, that many Christians give themselves the title, "Christian" but have not truly found the peace that is possible through salvation. We need to know our Creator intimately. We need to have a relationship with Him. But where do we start? I recommend that you get lost in the word of God through the pages of your Bible. Trust in Him to speak directly to your heart; to help you grow closer to Him. You will find, in the end, that you will have a love that goes beyond our earthly possibilities.

I was transformed by God in such a miraculous way. I did not have a moment of conversion; a pivotal moment in which I said, "Yes!" to Him. He walked with me by taking baby steps. On this journey, He revealed my brokenness, sinfulness, and hardened heart. He strengthened me each step of the way. He reached into my darkened soul and filled it with His glorious light. He opened my eyes to the beauty all around me to see the bigger picture; His creation, of which I am a small part of. Praise Him! He continues to woo me, ever so gently, into the person He wants me to be.

He fills me with ways to glorify Him. Many of the things I write about are inspired by a simple thought shared by someone else or through a personal event that I have experiences on my own. Sometimes He nudges me while listening to a sermon or a song, reading an email or devotional, and sometimes while sharing a moment of laughter with a friend or family member. I never know when to expect His little visits, but I'm always amazed when it happens.

I often look back on the things I have written and say, "Wow! Where did that come from?" I am so blessed to be used by Him...the Master of the Universe in such tiny way.
