I love this time of year - it's the season of giving
without expecting anything in return. For instance, when my hubby
takes out the trash he always forgets to replace the trash bag.
Rather than complain, I simply add the bag while he's outside
putting the full bag in our trash bin.
This leads to the next gift. Thursday is our trash day
and all the neighbors put out their trash for pickup. Once it has
been picked up I return our trash bin to the back yard. While I'm
out there it makes sense to do the same for our elderly neighbor's.
It only takes a minute and it makes me feel good all day long.
This is one of my favorites. Pay the toll for
the vehicle behind you. Can you imagine the family that is
frantically searching their car for enough change, only to find out
that they encountered an angel that day.
While shoveling your walk, go the distance and clear a
neighbors. You will be rewarded some day when yours is cleared by
someone else.
Although you don't have to wait until the Christmas
season to do anonymous acts of kindness, that's when it seems to be
the most fun and the most appreciated. Have a
wonderful day of kindness,Brenda Bates
